Etched plaques can be produced in bronze, aluminum, zinc, stainless steel and copper. A piece of film is exposed onto a photosensitive plate and therefore graphics and other small details and be reproduced with great accuracy. The most common thicknesses range from 1/16", 1/8", 3/16 & 1/4". Other thicknesses are available but significantly increase the price. Thickness affects the pricing for etched plaques and, in general, etched metal plaques cost around 30% more than cast plaques depending on the size, graphics and metal selected. The depth of the etching is generally .01” to .02”. The benefit of the etched plaque is the amount of lettering you can fit on an etching rather than a cast plaque. Letters can be as small as 1/16” versus cast bronze where the minimum size letter is ¼”. In addtion, if you want to add a halftone picture or portriat to your plaque etchings will last outdoors and are durable.

Etched plaques are made from stock that is lead & mercury free. A chemical process is used to reproduce even the most complex artwork onto the surface of the metal. Etched plaques, medallions and emblems provide the precision needed to make the perfect plaque or marker.
